When does eset's nod 32 anti virus license need to be renewed?

Usually on an annual (12 month) or bi-annual (24 month) cycle.

How do I know when the nod license needs to be renewed?

You receive error messages when you try to collect updates.

When your computer automatically checks for updates you receive a prompt for a User name and password from Eset's update server and/or
you repeatedly receive "incorrect username or password" when checking for updates. (as in the images below)

	Enter Password. enter password to access.. For user name and pass word to be remembered they must be entered in the Update setup window   This window is followed by the dialogue below regardless of the username and password entered
	Update (NOD32). Incorrect username and password. Old passwords will not be recognised after the license expiry date. And must be renewed within one month of expiry.

Your computer will remind you!

Your computer will remind you for about 10 days before the license expires. So about the 20th of the last month of your license it's start remind you each day.

Your reseller should also send you a reminder that looks like this.

How do I renew my nod 32 license?

How is the license installed on my computer(s)?

Pixel ITT offer a low cost, ASAP Remote license install Service for existing Nod 32 users.

If you choose to have Pixel ITT remotely install your license and check your Nod 32 settings remotely, we will save a copy of the license details on your hard drive while we perform the service. The remote license installation, using our ASAP Remote service usually takes about 10 minutes, we check the new license details are installed properly by triggering an update from Eset's servers before we complete the renewed license installation process.

How is the license delivered?

If you have chosen to install the license yourself, the renewed license is usually delivered by email once payment has been received. Pixel ITT strive to deliver your license within 2 working days of payment. You need to enter the new username and password into the Nod 32 Control Center, and then do an update to confirm the code entered is valid.

We have had experience of customers not installing the new license code and then months later wondering why the Control Center is advising the virus definitions are out of date. When will I receive my new license username and password?

Pixel ITT endeavour to deliver, by email or remote installation, your new license code within 2 business days (NSW Australia) of confirming your payment for the license and chosen installation method.

In the control centre the word update occurs once or twice.

• If Update only appears once, click on the small button to the left of the Update word
  Now another "Update" will show below it.

Click on the lower of the 2 Update buttons.

In the right hand panel your username and password areas show.

How To install (load) your new license details
(user name and password)

Please click on the Start button
click on All Programs (programs on some PC's)
click on ESET (program group)
click on Nod32 Control Center

NOTE: the Username and password are case SenSitiVe.
The Username is usually "AV-" plus seven numbers
The Password is usually a mix of Numbers and lower case letters.

The Nod 32 Control Centre will open

Click on the lower of the 2 Update buttons.

In the right hand panel your old username and password show in box text areas.
 

Replace the old username with the new username you have received from your Nod 32 reseller.
Note the update license username and password are case sensitive

Eset Server to receive updates from

Just above the username and password areas is the place to get the updates come from, the Server Name. This is usually set to <Choose Automatically>.

Pixel ITT recommend the Choose automatically option for most single computer nod32 customers. It will try different servers at Eset to collect your updates, rather than just one.

Type of updates to be received

Pixel ITT also recommend that both Virus Databases and Program Components (in the Type of updates area) be both set to Automatic.

Check that updates work for you

Click Ok to save the new renewed license details.

Next check that the Update Now Button to check that you have entered the details correctly. If you have an active internet connection it will either collect new updates or respond "Your version of NOD32 is up to date. No update is necessary" after your license details are checked.

Check updates are recent.

The date of the updates received should be very recent, in reverse Year month day (so 20060426 is 26th April 2006).

Finish and save changes made

Close the Nod32 Control Center with the double down arrows on the top right hand corner.

Regularly check

Occasionally, check the date of your recent updates to make sure they're within a day or two of today's date.

Infrequent internet use

This warning often happens to dial-up internet users who either don't use the internet very often, or may not have the Eset nod32 control Center Scheduler set to check for updates when dial up internet connection is established.

Hourly check for updates

Broadband (always on) internet users should have their Nod 32 Scheduler set to check for updates on an hourly basis. If there is a recent update available it collects it within one hour of the virus definition being made available on the eset update site.

Incorrect system date

Occasionally some customers computers date may be wrong (set to some date in the future) so even when the updates are current the computer thinks the updates are a few months old. (Checking Clock and Calendar settings in Windows)
