March 27 2007, V 19.0.5.2 Added additional support for 64 bit Windows.

4/3/2007. Version 19.0.4.6 releases - runs on Vista.

 

Version 19.0.4.6 runs as an application in Windows Vista. This is a limited Vista support - more development is underway.

7/10/2006. Version 18.9.2.9 has been released.

 

New features include:

  • Redirector mode allows all techs to use same public address and same port. (This uses the DualDesk Proxy software not the repeater).

  • Added beeps to chat request to get customer's and/or tech's attention.

  • Added option to uninstall and reboot remote computer to prevent leaving unattended computer logged in.

  • Added option to force remote system reboot (Emergency Reboot).

  • Improved re-connect routines to re-initialize the NIC and TCP connection and refresh the DNS lookup after 10 minutes of failed reconnect attempts.

We've added a Redirector Mode (not repeater) to allow multiple techs to use the same public IP address and port (even if they are not at the same server).

It's not Repeater Mode and doesn't require the tech (or customer) to login to a repeater or anyone enter any codes.

29/4/2006, Updated version of Dualdesk released

Version 18.9.2.5 released which has added functionality.

  • Webget web-based configuration to the DualDesk customer modules,

  • the tools (system config, device manager etc) to the Viewer menu side of the connection instead of just the customer system tray
    (Adding to ease of use on the customers desktop, during connected sessions).

  • Webstart utility (which is a stand-alone program not dependent on DualDesk).
    Webstart is particularly useful when a customers PC is not able to open a web browser window (usually due to spyware in the system).

This is used to run any program directly from a website instead of saving it to disk or having to load a web browser. The WebStart.exe file can be placed anywhere on the local hard drive or network share and is typically run from an icon on the user's desktop as a shortcut but can also be executed by a 3rd party program, batch or script file. This is useful for situations where the user's web browser is malfunctioning or blocks all downloads. This also helps ensure the user is always running the most current version of your DualDesk software.
